First Aid Annual Refresher- Highly recommended by HSE  

The Health and Safety Executive highly recommend that all first aiders undergo an annual refresher to ensure that their knowledge is kept up to date. Based on our full blended learning first aid modules (QCF), this online course will provide a rapid yet very thorough refresh of knowledge in the key first aid subjects and is available for learners to use at any time they feel necessary. It will certainly support robust internal governance arrangements within organisations.

Who should subscribe to this course?

All first aiders who are qualified in Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work. The course is suitable for the annual refresher for either course.

 

Objectives

 

The prime objectives of this course are the development of learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills in the following areas: 

  1. Roles and responsibilities of the first aider including reporting requirements and infection control
  2. Assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness including the primary and secondary survey
  3. Assisting a casualty who is suffering from
    1. ​Cardiac arrest
    2. Airways and breathing problems including choking
    3. Shock
    4. Bleeding
    5. Unconsciousness
    6. Anaphylactic shock

It is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually. An annual refresh of knowledge is highly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive.
